Random JSON Generator

Create random JSON test data in seconds. List the fields you need, choose how many records to generate and get a ready-to-use JSON array, a minified string or newline-delimited JSON. Each record looks like a real user – consistent first name, last name and e-mail, a matching city and country, numbers, booleans, dates and arrays.

When to use it

  • Front-end prototyping – feed tables, cards and charts before the real API exists.
  • API mocking – paste the output into Mock Service Worker, json-server or a Postman mock.
  • Database seeding – import NDJSON into MongoDB, Elasticsearch or BigQuery.
  • Testing – check pagination, sorting and filtering with predictable structure but varied values.

Output options

Pretty JSON is indented with two spaces for reading; minified JSON removes whitespace for fixtures and URLs. The wrap option returns { "count": n, "data": [...] }, a shape many paginated APIs use. Everything is generated in your browser – nothing is sent to a server.

Prefer another format? Generate the same records as XML, CSV or TSV, or format your own JSON with the JSON Beautifier.

Frequently Asked Questions

id, uuid, firstName, lastName, fullName, username, email, phone, age, birthDate, city, country, company, active, balance, score, tags and createdAt. List them in the order you want; names are case-insensitive. Names, e-mail addresses, city and country stay consistent within each record.

No. Names come from a list of common first and last names, e-mail addresses use reserved example domains such as example.com, and phone numbers use the fictional 555 exchange, so the data is safe to share in demos and screenshots.

Newline-delimited JSON puts one complete JSON object on each line. It is used by log shippers, Elasticsearch bulk imports, BigQuery and streaming tools because a file can be read line by line.

Up to 5,000 records per run. Download the result as a .json file, or generate several batches for larger fixtures.
