Random Date Generator
Generate random calendar dates between any two days. Set a start and end date, choose how many dates you need and pick an output format – ISO 8601, US or European notation, a written-out date or a Unix timestamp. Dates can be sorted, limited to weekdays and drawn without repeats.
Output formats
| Format | Example | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| ISO 8601 | 2024-03-05 | databases, APIs, JSON, sorting as text |
| US | 03/05/2024 | US forms and spreadsheets |
| UK | 05/03/2024 | British documents |
| EU | 05.03.2024 | German, Turkish and many European locales |
| Long / full | Tuesday, March 5, 2024 | readable test data, quizzes |
| ISO date + time | 2024-03-05T14:22:09Z | log entries, event timestamps |
| Unix timestamp | 1709648529 | backend code and APIs |
What people use it for
- Test data – fill birth date, order date and deadline columns with valid dates in a realistic range.
- Scheduling – pick random meeting days, audit dates or spot-check days, with weekends excluded.
- Games and quizzes – "what day of the week was…" quizzes and history games.
- Sampling – choose random days from a year for quality-control checks or surveys.
Accuracy
Every date is a real calendar day. Leap years are handled, invalid input such as 2023-02-29 is rejected, and each day in the range has exactly the same chance of being picked. Randomness comes from the Web Crypto API in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
Need times instead of dates? Use the Random Time Generator. For whole data sets with dates in them, see the Random JSON Generator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the start and end dates included?
Yes. Both bounds are inclusive, so a range from 2024-02-01 to 2024-02-29 can return any day of February 2024, including the first and the last day.
Which time zone is used?
Dates are calculated in UTC, so a generated date never shifts by a day because of your local time zone. The ISO date + time and Unix timestamp formats add a random time of day in UTC.
How does Weekdays only work?
It skips Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays are not removed because they differ from country to country.
