Line Example
Street 3/58 Pohutukawa Drive
Suburb Mount Eden
City and postcode Auckland 1024
Country New Zealand

New Zealand postcodes are always four digits and are written after the town or city on the same line, without a region name. Rural addresses add an RD (rural delivery) number, which this tool does not generate.

Regions and cities

The Region menu covers Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Otago, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Northland, Nelson, Taranaki and Southland. Cities include Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Dunedin, Queenstown, Napier, Palmerston North, Rotorua, Nelson and Invercargill. Street names mix English names with native trees and birds such as Kauri, Rimu, Totara, Tui and Kea for a familiar local feel.

Good reasons to test with NZ data

  • Four-digit postcodes – many forms expect five digits and reject Kiwi codes.
  • Optional state field – New Zealand has no states, so the region field should not be required.
  • Phone formats – landlines start with 0 plus a one-digit area code, unlike North American numbers.
  • Macrons and apostrophes – names like Hawke's Bay test your escaping.
