Random 4 Digit Number Generator

Generate random four-digit numbers instantly. Each value has exactly four digits, so the tool is a quick source of PIN codes, lock combinations, raffle numbers, verification codes and test data. Choose how many numbers you need and the list refreshes immediately; press Generate for a new set.

Options

  • Allow leading zero – include codes like 0093 (range 0000–9999). Turn it off for numbers from 1000 to 9999.
  • No duplicate numbers – every number in the list is unique, ideal for ticket or locker numbers.
  • No repeated digits – each digit appears at most once, as in 3961; there are 5,040 such codes.
  • Order – keep the random order or sort the numbers ascending or descending.

Secure randomness

Numbers are drawn digit by digit with the browser's Web Crypto API, giving every allowed combination the same probability. Unlike hand-picked PINs, generated codes do not cluster around birthdays, years or keyboard patterns, which makes them harder to guess.

Common uses

Four-digit numbers are used for bank card and phone PINs, door and padlock codes, two-factor SMS codes, bingo and lottery-style games, and as short IDs in spreadsheets. Developers use them to fill OTP fields and test validation rules such as "exactly four digits".

Private by design

The generator runs completely in your browser. No number is stored or transmitted, and you can copy the list or download it as a text file with new lines, commas or other separators.

Need longer codes? Use the Random 6 Digit Number Generator, or pick numbers from a custom range with the Random Number Generator.

Frequently Asked Questions

With a leading zero allowed there are 10,000 combinations, from 0000 to 9999. If the first digit must be 1–9 there are 9,000 numbers, from 1000 to 9999.

They are generated with a cryptographically secure random source, so they are suitable as PINs. Avoid easy patterns like 1234 or 1111 if a number is picked by hand; turning on 'No repeated digits' removes values such as 1111 and 2002.

A 4-digit code such as 0427 is valid for PINs, lock combinations and verification codes. Turn off 'Allow leading zero' if you need numbers between 1000 and 9999 only.

Not by default: 'No duplicate numbers' is on, so every value in the list is different. You can request up to all 10,000 combinations at once.
