OTP Prompt Generator

OTP Prompt Generator

Writer's block on your favorite ship? The OTP Prompt Generator gives you a random scenario for your one true pairing – with your characters' names already filled in. Use it for fanfiction, comics, fanart, roleplay or daily writing challenges.

Five genres

• Fluff – cozy, sweet moments: blanket forts, lopsided scarves, dancing in the rain.
• Angst – the letter that was never sent, a goodbye at the train station, meeting again years later.
• Hurt / comfort – nightmares, injuries and bad days where one character looks after the other.
• Alternate universe (AU) – coffee shop, soulmate, fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, fantasy and space AUs.
• Funny – stuck overnight in IKEA, eleven accidentally adopted ducks and a ring-eating dog.

Writing tips for OTP prompts

Swap the roles. Every prompt reads differently when A and B are switched. Generate once, then swap the names to see which version feels more in character.

Write a drabble. Challenge yourself to tell the prompt in exactly 100 words. Short pieces are a great way to post regularly and build an audience.

Combine genres. Roll a fluff prompt and an angst prompt and connect them in one story – the sweet moment hits harder when the sad one follows.

Draw it. Artists use OTP prompts for comic strips and sketch challenges: one panel per sentence of the prompt.

How to use

Enter your two character names, choose a Genre or keep Any genre, set How many and press Generate. Empty name fields become "Person A" and "Person B". No repeats keeps the list unique, and you can copy or download your prompts.
