Random New York Address Generator

What makes a New York address
| Part | New York specifics |
|---|---|
| Street | Numbered and named streets, avenues and boulevards |
| Unit | Apartments are the norm in the city: Apt 4B, Suite 1200 |
| City | New York for Manhattan, borough names elsewhere |
| ZIP | 100xx–104xx for NYC, up to 149xx upstate |
| Phone | 212 and 646 (Manhattan), 718 and 347 (other boroughs), 518, 585, 716 upstate |
The generator adds a unit to every address by default because that is what real NYC data looks like – if your form breaks on Apt 12C, you want to find out before your users do.
Testing tips
- Check that your address form has room for a second address line; New York users will always need it.
- Test borough names as cities – a validation rule that only accepts New York will reject valid Brooklyn addresses.
- Use ZIP+4 to make sure your ZIP field accepts the 9-digit format.
- Mix city and upstate addresses when you test shipping zones and sales tax, which differs between New York City and other counties.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these real New York addresses?
No. Cities, ZIP prefixes (100–149) and area codes such as 212, 718 and 518 are real, but street numbers and names are random. Do not send mail to them.
Why do New York addresses default to apartments?
Most New York City residents live in multi-unit buildings, so realistic NYC data usually includes an apartment or suite. Switch Apartment / suite to No apartments for upstate houses.
Can I pick a borough?
Yes. Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island are in the city list next to New York (Manhattan), as well as upstate cities such as Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, Syracuse and Ithaca.
What is the difference between New York, NY and the borough names?
Mail to Manhattan uses New York, NY, while the other boroughs traditionally use their own names – Brooklyn, NY; Bronx, NY; Staten Island, NY – and Queens uses neighbourhood names like Flushing or Astoria.
