Random Street Address Generator

Need an Address line 1 for a test? The random street address generator produces realistic US street lines such as 4821 N Maple Ave or 77 Lincoln St Apt 12B. Use them alone, or add a city, state and ZIP code with one switch.

Anatomy of a US street address

Part Example Notes
Building number 4821 1 to 5 digits
Directional (optional) N, SW Common in grid cities
Street name Maple The most common US street names are used
Suffix Ave USPS abbreviation
Unit (optional) Apt 12B, Suite 310 Address line 2 in most forms

When you need just the street line

Many forms split an address into street, city, state and ZIP. When you are testing validation for the street field – maximum length, allowed characters, unit parsing – you only need the first line. The generator gives you hundreds in a second, with or without apartment numbers, so you can check how your form and database handle both.

Street lines are also useful for address-parsing libraries: feed in lines with and without directions and units and check that each part is recognised correctly.

Common US street names

The most frequent street names in the United States are numbers (Second, Third), trees (Oak, Pine, Maple, Cedar, Elm), presidents (Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson) and descriptive names like Main, Park, Lake and Hill. The generator draws from about sixty of the most common, which makes every result look natural.

Tips

Set Apartment / suite to Always add unit to test address line 2 handling. All data is generated in your browser and is meant for testing, not for real mailings.
