Frequently Asked Questions
How many MLB teams are there?
Major League Baseball has 30 teams: 15 in the American League and 15 in the National League, each league split into East, Central and West divisions of five teams.
Why is it just "Athletics" without a city?
After leaving Oakland in 2024 the club plays as the Athletics while it waits for its new ballpark in Las Vegas, so the generator uses the official team name.
Can I use it for MLB The Show franchise challenges?
Yes. Draw one team for a franchise or Road to the Show challenge, or two teams for a random exhibition matchup.
Is the Toronto Blue Jays the only Canadian team?
Yes. Since the Montreal Expos moved to Washington in 2005 to become the Nationals, the Blue Jays are the only MLB team outside the United States.
