Random CSV Generator

Generate random CSV files with realistic fake data for spreadsheets, database imports and tests. Type the columns you need, choose the number of rows and the delimiter, and download a ready-to-import .csv file. Names, e-mail addresses, cities and countries match inside each row, so the data looks believable in demos.

Typical uses

  • Import testing – try CSV importers in CRMs, e-commerce platforms, mailing tools and databases.
  • Spreadsheet practice – teach sorting, filters, pivot tables and formulas with fresh data.
  • Load tests – create thousands of rows to test performance of upload and parsing code.
  • Demos – show dashboards and reports without exposing real customer records.

Delimiters and quoting

Comma is the default for most tools. Semicolon is common in European versions of Excel, where the comma is the decimal separator. Pipe-delimited files appear in legacy and banking exports. Enable "Quote every value" if the target system expects all fields in quotes.

Data is generated in your browser and is completely fictional. For tab-separated output use the Random TSV Generator; to turn CSV into JSON, use CSV to JSON.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The output follows RFC 4180: values containing the delimiter, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in double quotes and inner quotes are doubled. If Excel puts everything in one column, your locale probably expects semicolons – pick the Semicolon delimiter.

The values are joined with a semicolon inside one cell, for example calm;swift. When the delimiter is also a semicolon the cell is quoted automatically.

Yes. Columns appear exactly in the order you type them, and the header row uses the same names.
