Ideas for random Pokemon

Drawing prompts. Artists use random Pokemon for daily sketch practice, fan-art challenges and "draw it from memory" games.

Monotype and draft runs. Draw a few Pokemon and play through a game using only them, or let each player in a group draft from a shared random pool.

Guess the Pokemon. One person draws a name in secret and describes it without saying its type; the others try to guess it first.

How to use it

Choose how many Pokemon you want and a generation, then press Generate. Starts with filters by first letter – useful for alphabet games – and No repeats keeps every name unique. Copy or download the result. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

More than 930 species across all nine generations. Generation 1 is complete with all 151 Kanto Pokemon, and every later generation includes its starters, legendaries and the vast majority of its regular species.

Yes. Use the Generation select to limit draws to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Hisui, or Paldea. Choose All generations to draw from the whole list.

No. Each species appears once under its base name, so Alolan Vulpix and Mega Charizard simply count as Vulpix and Charizard. That keeps the odds fair between species.

Drawing challenges, Nuzlocke-style "catch only this" runs, guessing games, picking a favourite to collect in Pokemon GO or TCG Pocket, or simply discovering species you have never used before.
