Random Time Generator

Generate random times of day within any window. Choose the earliest and latest time, how many values you need, a 12-hour or 24-hour clock and an optional step so results land on round minutes. Add seconds for log-style timestamps, sort the list or forbid duplicates.

Common uses

  • Test data – opening hours, appointment slots, shift starts and timestamps for logs and fixtures.
  • Random reminders – pick an unpredictable time for a break, a stretch or a habit check-in.
  • Fair scheduling – choose random interview or call slots from a window so nobody is always first.
  • Games and drills – practise reading analog clocks or converting between 12-hour and 24-hour time.

12-hour and 24-hour clocks

The 24-hour clock writes hours from 00 to 23 and is standard in most countries and in computing. The 12-hour clock adds AM or PM; midnight is 12:00 AM and noon is 12:00 PM. The generator converts automatically, so you can switch the clock without changing your range.

All values are drawn uniformly with the browser's secure random generator and never leave your device. For calendar days use the Random Date Generator.

Frequently Asked Questions

It rounds every time to a grid. A step of 15 only returns times like 09:00, 09:15 and 09:30. When Include seconds is on, the step is counted in seconds instead of minutes.

No – the start time must be earlier than the end time on the same day. For a night shift such as 22:00–06:00, generate two lists (22:00–23:59 and 00:00–06:00) or use the full day.

Yes, if it lies on the step grid. With From 09:00, To 17:00 and step 15, the time 17:00 can be returned.
