Random TSV Generator

Generate random tab-separated values (TSV) with realistic fake records. Pick the columns, set the number of rows and copy the result straight into a spreadsheet or save it as a .tsv file. Each row contains a consistent fake person: matching names and e-mail address, a city with its country, plus numbers, booleans, dates and tags.

Why TSV?

TSV CSV
Separator tab comma or semicolon
Quoting not needed required for commas, quotes, newlines
Paste into spreadsheets splits into columns automatically often needs an import step
Common in bioinformatics, MySQL/PostgreSQL COPY, clipboard data general data exchange

Columns

Use any of: id, uuid, firstName, lastName, fullName, username, email, phone, age, birthDate, city, country, company, active, balance, score, tags and createdAt. Separate them with commas or spaces; the order you type is the column order, and the header row uses the same names.

Use cases

  • Clipboard data – paste test rows into Google Sheets or Excel in one step.
  • Database loading – feed PostgreSQL COPY, MySQL LOAD DATA or SQLite .import, which default to tab-separated input.
  • Command-line tools – process the file with cut, awk or sort, which split on tabs easily.
  • Parser testing – verify that your TSV reader handles headers, booleans, dates and Unicode names.

All data is invented and generated locally in your browser. Need commas instead? Use the Random CSV Generator. Convert existing files with TSV to JSON.

Frequently Asked Questions

TSV separates values with a tab character instead of a comma. Because tabs almost never appear inside data, TSV needs no quoting rules, which makes it simpler to parse and safe for text that contains commas.

Yes. Copy the output and paste it into Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice or Numbers – tab-separated text is split into columns automatically, no import wizard needed.

The generated values never contain tabs or line breaks. As a safeguard, any such character would be replaced with a space so every row keeps the same number of columns.
