Random Integer Generator
Generate random whole numbers with padding, signs and no repeats.
Random Integer Generator
Generate a list of random integers between two whole numbers. Choose the bounds, how many integers you want, and how they should be ordered and formatted. The list updates as soon as you change a setting, and the Generate button gives you a fresh set at any time.
Formatting options built for integers
- Unique integers – draw without replacement so no value appears twice.
- Zero-pad – give every value the same width (007, 042, 500), useful for IDs, file names and codes that must sort as text.
- Show + sign – write positive values as +15, handy for score changes, offsets and temperature deltas.
- Order – keep the random order, or sort ascending or descending.
Uniform and unbiased
Each integer between the minimum and maximum, both included, has exactly the same probability. The randomness comes from the browser's cryptographically secure generator rather than Math.random, so the values are not predictable and there is no pattern between consecutive results.
When to use random integers
Developers use random integers to seed databases, create test fixtures and fuzz input fields. Teachers use them for arithmetic worksheets, and game masters for loot tables and encounter rolls. Analysts pick random row numbers to sample a spreadsheet without bias.
Privacy
All integers are generated locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or logged, and you can download the result as a plain text file with the separator of your choice: new lines, commas, spaces, tabs or pipes.
For a sequence instead of random values, use the Integer Range Generator; for random intervals, see the Random Integer Range Generator.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this and the Random Number Generator?
This tool only produces whole numbers and adds integer-specific formatting: zero padding to a fixed width, an explicit plus sign for positive values, and validation that rejects decimal bounds.
Can I generate negative integers?
Yes. Use a negative minimum such as -100. With 'Show + sign' turned on, positive values are written as +42 so a mixed list lines up clearly.
What does zero-pad do?
It pads every integer with leading zeros to the width of the larger bound. With a range of 1 to 1000 you get values like 0007 and 0420, which sort correctly as text and look tidy in file names.
How large can the integers be?
Any value inside JavaScript's safe integer range, from -9,007,199,254,740,991 to 9,007,199,254,740,991. Larger bounds are rejected instead of silently losing precision.
