What to do with a random aesthetic
Refresh your wardrobe. Pick one piece that fits the aesthetic – a cardigan for grandmacore, a chrome accessory for Y2K – and style the rest of your outfit around it.
Theme a photo shoot or social feed. Use the description as a shot list: "candles, wool socks, warm drinks and slow evenings" is a complete hygge shoot.
Design challenge. Designers and illustrators can redesign a logo, poster or character in a random aesthetic. Roll two and combine them for a harder challenge – cottagecore meets cyberpunk is surprisingly fun.
Writing. Give a fictional character an aesthetic and you instantly know how their bedroom looks and what they wear.
Pair it with a moodboard
Once you have an aesthetic, the Moodboard Generator gives you a matching palette in hex codes, keywords, textures and a font pairing to turn the idea into a design.
How to use
Choose a style family or keep All, toggle Show description, set how many aesthetics you want and press Generate. Starts with and No repeats work as usual, and you can copy or download the list.

What is an aesthetic?
An aesthetic is a recognizable visual and cultural style – colors, clothes, objects, music and places that belong together, like cottagecore or cyberpunk.
Can I use it to plan a room or outfit?
Yes. Roll an aesthetic, read the description, then use our Moodboard Generator for a matching color palette and textures.
Why do some names end in -core?
The -core suffix comes from internet culture and means 'a style built around' something – goblincore is built around mud, frogs and found treasures, for example.
