How to learn with random words

One word a day. Generate a single word each morning, write it in a sentence and say it out loud. Small daily habits beat cramming.

Themed flashcards. Pick a topic such as food, generate ten words, and copy them into your flashcard app or onto paper cards.

Translation quiz. Choose English – word and try to recall the Spanish before you look. Switch to Word only to test the other direction.

Learn the gender. Always learn nouns with their article. A useful hint: most nouns ending in -o are masculine and most ending in -a are feminine – but watch for exceptions like el día.

Use the verbs. Spanish has two verbs for "to be": ser for permanent traits and estar for temporary states. Generate the verbs group and make one sentence with each.

How to use

Choose a topic in Group or keep All, set How many, choose what to Show and press Generate. Starts with filters by the first letter of the word (ignoring the article), and you can copy or download the list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every Spanish noun is masculine or feminine, and the article tells you which: el perro (the dog) is masculine, la casa (the house) is feminine. Learning the article together with the word saves you mistakes later.

Beginner (A1–A2). About 120 high-frequency words in nine topics: greetings, family, food, animals, colors, home, time & weather, verbs and adjectives.

Set Show to English – word. Cover the right side of the list, say the Spanish word for each English meaning, then uncover to check.

Yes. Typing p finds el perro and el pájaro, because the filter looks at the word itself, not at el, la, los, las, un or una.
