Yes or No Generator
A fair random yes or no answer in one click.
Yes or No Generator
Can't decide? Ask the Yes or No Generator. Think of a question, press Generate and get an instant, unbiased answer. It works like flipping a coin, only faster – and you never have to chase the coin under the sofa.
Three answer styles
- Yes / No – a pure 50/50 decision maker.
- Yes / No / Maybe – adds a third option when "it depends" is a valid outcome. Each answer has a one-in-three chance.
- Magic 8-ball answers – twenty fortune-teller style replies such as "Outlook good", "Ask again later" and "Very doubtful". Great for parties and for questions you are not taking too seriously.
Ways to use a yes or no wheel
Break a tie. When two friends cannot agree on a movie or a restaurant, let the generator settle it.
Beat decision fatigue. For low-stakes choices – take the bus or walk, order dessert or skip it – a random answer saves willpower for things that matter.
Classroom and games. Teachers use yes/no pickers for true-or-false warm-ups, and game masters use them for quick NPC reactions or to decide whether a random event happens.
The coin-flip trick. Psychologists often suggest flipping a coin on a hard choice – not to obey it, but to notice your gut reaction. If you hope for a re-roll, you have found your real answer.
How to use
Choose an Answers style and press Generate. Raise How many to ask several questions at once or to play "best of 5", where the tally above the result shows the winner. Answers are fair and generated in your browser – nothing is sent to a server.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the yes or no answer really random?
Yes. Each answer uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so Yes and No are exactly equally likely and previous answers have no influence on the next one.
What is the Magic 8-ball mode?
It picks one of the 20 classic Magic 8-ball style answers: ten positive, five non-committal and five negative – the same balance as the original toy.
What does Best of 5 do?
It generates five answers at once and shows the tally, e.g. 'Yes 3 – No 2'. Majority wins – handy when a single coin flip feels too final.
Should I make real decisions with this?
Use it for small choices – pizza or tacos, go out or stay in. For bigger decisions, notice how you feel when you see the answer: relief or disappointment often tells you what you really want.
