Text Flipper – Flip, Mirror and Reverse Text

The text flipper gives you six ways to turn text around in a single place. Paste a word, a paragraph or a whole list, choose a mode, and the flipped version appears instantly, ready to copy or download.

The six modes

  • Upside down – rotates every letter by 180° using Unicode look-alikes and reverses the order, so it reads correctly when you turn your screen.
  • Mirror – the horizontal mirror image: reversed text with mirrored letters such as ɒ, ɔ, ɘ and parentheses swapped.
  • Reverse characters – the plain reversal of every character (hello becomes olleh).
  • Reverse word order – keeps each word readable but reads the sentence from the end to the beginning.
  • Flip each word – reverses the letters inside each word while the words stay in place.
  • Flip line order – turns a list upside down so the last line becomes the first; perfect for reversing a log, a countdown or an ordered list.

When flipped text is useful

Writers and teachers use reversed text for puzzles and spelling games. Developers flip lines to check how software sorts or displays input. Social media users flip posts for jokes, and designers use mirrored text to preview a reflection effect. Reversing lines also helps when you need the newest entries of a chronological file at the top.

Tips

For multi-line text, the Also reverse line order switch makes the upside down and mirror modes behave like a rotated page rather than flipped individual lines. If you only want a decorative upside down message to paste into a bio, the Upside Down Text generator shows several variants side by side. To reverse text in other ways, such as words in a sentence, you can also use the Text Reverser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reversing only changes the order of characters, words or lines. Flipping also swaps letters for look-alike Unicode characters so the result looks rotated (upside down) or mirrored. Pick the mode that matches the effect you want.

It reverses the letters inside every word but leaves the words where they are, so 'good morning' becomes 'doog gninrom'. It is handy for word games and simple obfuscation.

Reversing modes treat emoji and accented letters as single units, so they are not torn apart. In upside down and mirror modes, characters without a flipped twin are left as they are.

No. All flipping happens in your browser, so you can paste private notes without uploading them.
