XML to HTML Table
Turn XML records into an HTML table.
XML to HTML Table Converter Online
The XML to HTML converter turns record-style XML into a clean HTML <table> you can paste into a web page, a CMS, an email, or documentation. The table markup appears on the right and a live preview underneath shows exactly how it renders.
From records to rows
Most data-carrying XML is a list of similar records: products in a catalog, entries in a feed, orders in an export. The converter finds the repeating element automatically and builds one row per record. Attributes (id, category) and child elements (title, price) become the columns, in the order they first appear. Records that lack a field simply get an empty cell, so irregular documents still produce a rectangular table.
Options
- Header row – writes the column names in a
<thead>with<th>cells, which improves accessibility and lets screen readers announce columns. - Borders & padding – adds
border, cellpadding, andcellspacingattributes so the table looks tidy even in email clients; turn it off for bare markup that inherits your site's CSS. - Remove namespace prefixes – shortens
dc:creatortocreatorin the header. - Caption – adds a
<caption>element describing the table.
Safe output
All values are escaped, so text such as Maeve Ascendant & Other Tales or embedded angle brackets appear as text and can never inject markup. The preview is rendered in an isolated frame.
Copy, paste, publish
The output is a single self-contained element with no scripts or external dependencies. Paste it into a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Confluence HTML macro, a Markdown file that allows raw HTML, or the body of a newsletter. Because every cell is plain text, search engines and screen readers can read the data as easily as your visitors.
Why not XSLT?
XSLT gives full control over HTML output, but it requires writing a stylesheet. For the common case of “show this data as a table”, this converter is instant. When you need custom layouts, use the XSLT Transformer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which elements become table rows?
The element that repeats most often, such as <book> in a <catalog> or <item> in an RSS feed. Each occurrence is one row; its attributes and child elements are the columns. A document without repeated elements becomes a one-row table.
What happens to nested elements?
They are flattened into dotted column names, for example address.city. An element that has text and attributes, like <price currency="USD">, produces two columns: price and price@currency.
Can I style the table myself?
Yes. Switch off “Borders & padding” to get a plain <table> without border, cellpadding, and cellspacing attributes, then style it with your own CSS. Special characters in the data are HTML-escaped, so the markup is always valid.
