Excel to HTML Table Converter Online
The Excel to HTML converter turns a spreadsheet into a ready-to-paste HTML <table>. Use it to publish a price list on a website, add a schedule to a blog post, include figures in an HTML email, or document data in a wiki that accepts raw HTML. Open an .xlsx file, pick the sheet, and copy the markup — a live preview shows the rendered table right below the code.
Clean, semantic markup
The generated table uses <thead> for the header row and <tbody> for the data, with every value escaped. There are no inline styles, fonts, or Excel-specific attributes, so the table inherits your site's stylesheet and stays lightweight. If you need a quick standalone look, the Borders option adds a classic border="1" table with cell padding.
Options
- Sheet – choose which worksheet becomes the table.
- First row is a header – render the first row as
<th>cells; turn it off when the sheet has no titles. - All sheets – output one table per worksheet, each with a
<caption>containing the sheet name. - Borders – toggle the simple bordered presentation.
What gets converted
Text, numbers, booleans, and dates are read from the workbook as stored values. Dates are displayed in ISO form (2024-03-15) rather than a locale-specific format, and formulas show their last calculated result. Merged cells, images, and charts are not part of the cell data and are therefore skipped.
Accessibility tips
Screen readers rely on header cells to announce which column a value belongs to, so keep the header option on whenever your data has column titles. A caption also helps: export all sheets or add a <caption> manually to describe the table.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the HTML keep Excel's colours and fonts?
No. The converter exports the data, not the formatting: you get a clean semantic <table> with <thead> and <tbody> that picks up your website's own CSS. Switch “Borders” on for a simple bordered table that looks fine without any styling.
How do I put the table on my website?
Click Copy and paste the markup into your page, CMS HTML block, or email template, or download it as an .html file. The live preview under the code shows exactly how it will render.
Can I convert every sheet at once?
Yes. Turn on “All sheets” and each worksheet becomes its own table, with the sheet name as the table caption.
Is the cell content safe to embed?
Cell values are HTML-escaped, so text such as <script> or a stray ampersand is shown literally instead of being interpreted as markup.
