JSON to Excel Converter – Download JSON as .xlsx

The JSON to Excel converter turns JSON data into a real Excel workbook (.xlsx) with one click. Paste a JSON array, check the table preview, name the file and the sheet, and download a spreadsheet with a bold, frozen header row, sensible column widths, and proper numeric cells.

How it works

1. Paste JSON or open a .json file. The records are detected automatically — a top-level array, a single object, or an object wrapping one array like {"items": [...]}.
2. Each object becomes a row and each key a column. Nested objects are flattened to columns such as address.city; arrays of simple values are joined with commas.
3. Review the preview table, then press Download Excel (.xlsx).

The text box on the right also shows the data as tab-separated values, so you can copy and paste it directly into an open spreadsheet if you prefer.

A real spreadsheet, not a CSV

Many "JSON to Excel" tools produce CSV files with an .xls extension, which leads to encoding problems, lost leading zeros, and dates Excel guesses wrong. This tool writes a genuine Office Open XML workbook: numbers are numeric, booleans are booleans, text stays text, UTF-8 characters such as ç, ğ, or emoji display correctly, and the header row stays visible while you scroll.
