Website to IP Address
Find the IP address behind any website URL.
Website to IP Address
Find the IP address of any website in one step. Paste a URL or domain — https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNS, shop.example.com or just example.com — and the tool extracts the hostname and returns its IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, along with any CNAME the site points to.
Why find a website's IP?
- Hosting research: discover which provider or CDN serves a site; the CNAME target (for example
*.vercel-dns.comor*.cloudfront.net) usually gives it away. - Migration checks: after moving a site, confirm that public DNS already returns the new server's address.
- Blocking and allow-listing: add a site's addresses to firewall, proxy or parental-control rules.
- Debugging: compare the public answer with your local one to spot stale caches or hosts-file overrides.
Understanding the output
The result lists every address record with its TTL. Several addresses mean the site is load-balanced. Seeing addresses from a CDN range means the CDN terminates traffic and forwards it to a hidden origin. If you only see IPv4 rows, the site does not support IPv6 yet. Because answers come from public resolvers, geo-aware DNS may return a different edge server than the one your own computer uses.
Privacy note
The lookup runs on our server with public resolvers; we only query DNS and never contact the website itself. To check all record types, use the DNS Lookup; to see if a web server port answers, try the Open Port Checker.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I paste a full URL?
Yes. The tool strips the protocol, path, query string and port, so https://www.example.com/blog?page=2 is looked up as www.example.com.
Is the IP address the real server of the website?
Not always. Sites behind a CDN or proxy such as Cloudflare, Akamai or CloudFront return the CDN edge address closest to the resolver. The origin server is deliberately hidden.
Can I open the website by typing its IP address?
Often not. Most servers host many sites on one IP and choose the site from the Host header and TLS SNI, so visiting the bare IP shows a default page or a certificate warning.
Why do www and the bare domain show different IPs?
They are separate DNS names. www is frequently a CNAME to a hosting platform while the apex domain uses A records, so their addresses can differ.
